Class
Reunion Giving Campaign
The annual OBU Class Reunion Giving Campaign reaches a climax at Homecoming
each year during the second weekend in November. The campaign involves
all of the classes celebrating anniversary reunions during that year.
Every member and friend of every class celebrating a reunion during the
year has the opportunity to make a gift or pledge to OBU that will be
counted toward a reunion giving total for that class. The reunioning class
which contributes the most dollars during the year will be awarded the
coveted Bison Reunion Cup. The engraved silver trophy, on permanent display
in the Jent Alumni Center, bears the names of the annual Class Reunion
Giving winners.
What Is The OBU
Annual Fund?
OBU’s Annual Fund is the unrestricted, budget-relieving money raised
each year through gifts from alumni, parents, friends, corporations,
and foundations. These gifts ensure financial stability by providing
essential support OBU needs to balance its operating budget and meet
the requirements of an academic program known for quality.
Tuition and endowment income are not enough to meet the University’s
most pressing needs. The Annual Fund supports many urgent budget needs
such as student financial aid and support for faculty research and projects.
As the fund name indicates, solicitations are conducted from January
1 through December 31 annually. During that time, a variety of mailings
are directed toward alumni, parents, and friends. Also, a nationwide
Annual Fund Phonathon is conducted by students, faculty, staff, and
alumni volunteers during January and February. In addition, development
officers and alumni volunteers personally seek major gifts throughout
the year to strengthen the Annual Fund.
