About Us

"... focused on the whole person, where students are taught to respect the person, and learn more than just the skills of nursing, but looking at the whole patient in a compassionate, caring way."

A Proven Success.

Nursing education in Oklahoma begins with Oklahoma Baptist University. OBU started the first bachelor's degree program in the state five decades ago.

But that was just the beginning for a program whose graduates are known for their skill and their concern. The OBU nursing program consistently rates among the best in the nation for success on licensing exams. The graduates also gain consistent praise for their level of leadership and caring.

OBU's nursing program was a pacesetter in 1952, and continues to be a trendsetter today.

Accredited by the National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission, t
he mission of the Oklahoma Baptist University School of Nursing is to educate professional nurses, preparing them to enter the work setting of their choice as caring and competent novices. This mission is achieved through a curriculum built on a strong liberal arts base which is grounded in the Judeo-Christian value of service.
